Job summary

Surveying And Mapping, LLC (SAM) is seeking experienced Professional Land Surveyors to lead boundary, transportation, and development projects across the Western United States. You will oversee planning, field operations, and deliverables while mentoring junior staff and fostering client relationships.

The role emphasizes technical excellence, coordination with engineers and project managers, and potential expansion into project management or business development. Occasional travel is expected.

Qualifications

• Active PLS license in western states.
• Experience leading land surveying projects.
• Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D and surveying software.
• Ability to review deeds, plats, and legal descriptions.
• Strong communication and mentoring skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead land surveying projects from planning to final deliverables.
• Review and certify survey documents in accordance with laws and standards.
• Provide technical leadership to office and field staff.
• Review deeds, plats and legal descriptions to support boundaries.
• Collaborate with clients, engineers, PMs, contractors, and agencies.
• Manage project budgets, schedules, and staffing.
• Support business development and client relationships.
• Provide QA/QC on final deliverables.
