Job summary

TYG in Chicago is seeking a Senior Project Engineer - Land Development to lead technical delivery of land development projects, coordinating design, permitting and project documentation with Project Managers, clients and municipal authorities.

This full-time role offers a hybrid work environment, mentorship of junior engineers, and opportunities to own complex design work across grading, drainage, utilities, and regulatory approvals while advancing your project management and leadership skills.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of civil engineering/land development experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Strong site development, grading, drainage and utilities experience.
• Proficiency with Civil 3D.
• EIT certification; PE license preferred.
• Experience coordinating with municipalities and permitting agencies.
• Strong communication, technical and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead civil engineering design for land development projects.
• Oversee grading, drainage, stormwater management and utility design.
• Prepare and review engineering plans, calculations and technical reports.
• Coordinate permitting and regulatory approvals.
• Work with clients, municipalities, contractors and consultants.
• Support project schedules, budgets and technical deliverables.
• Mentor junior engineers and review their work.
• Conduct site visits and construction-phase reviews as required.
