Your Impact
Essential Responsibilities
•Coordinate and participate in the performance of soil and materials laboratory testing in support of FDOT construction projects.
•Supervise a team of laboratory technicians, ensuring technical quality of deliverables.
•Possess strong knowledge of laboratory tests, field testing procedures, and inspections
•Manage lab accreditations, prepare for lab audits, conduct internal safety audits, maintain quality control, and ensure timely lab test execution.
•Maintain laboratory accreditation program for both laboratory and field staff.
•Oversee and participate in annual proficiency sample programs.
•Function as the main point of contact with client representatives.
•Demonstrate ability to make sound decisions based on judgment and experience.
•Uphold responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company resources and conduct, following WSP’s Code of Conduct.
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
•5+ years of experience in construction materials laboratory operations and a deep understanding of lab accreditation procedures.
•Proficient in interpreting and adhering to FDOT/ASTM/AASHTO standards.
•Effective communication skills for positive interaction with project team members and clients.
•Skilled in supervising and leading staff members.
•Exceptional organizational abilities and adept at handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
•Capable of conducting lab testing tasks, including lifting heavy equipment and samples.
•Able to perform duties involving prolonged standing and repetitive movements.
•Self-driven, diligent, and able to work both independently and in team settings.
•Proficient in completing assignments within specified guidelines and deadlines.
•Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
•Must meet background check and driving record requirements as per company policy.
•Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and compliance with company policies.
•Flexible with work schedules to accommodate project needs beyond regular hours.
Have or can attain applicable CTQP or ACI certifications:
• Aggregate Testing Technician
• Aggregate Base Testing Technician
• Concrete Lab Technician Level 1
• LBR Technician
• Qualified Sampler Technician
Preferred Qualifications
•Experience with CMEC, AMRL, CCRL and USACE Laboratory Accreditations.
•Experience with FDOT Laboratory Accreditations.
•Experience with FDOT Materials Acceptance and Certification System.
