Job summary

Luminis Health is seeking a Laboratory Operations Leader to oversee a designated area in our Maryland facility. You will implement new programs, validate testing methods, and guide staff to ensure high-quality, compliant results across the system.

Responsibilities include staff development, budgeting, instrument maintenance, and cross-functional collaboration with pathologists and clinicians. A Bachelor's Degree with ASCP certification eligibility is required, along with 3 years of acute care

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university meeting ASCP certification eligibility.
• Three years of experience in an acute care facility as MLS/MT/HTL/CT/ASCP/HEW/AMT.
• Two years of experience leading or supervising staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate short- and long-term operations of the designated laboratory area.
• Serve as a technical resource across the health system, standardizing instrumentation and procedures.
• Recruit, orient, and train staff; schedule work and develop a competent team.
• Maintain quality results and participate in QA programs; review reports and adjust procedures.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and inspection readiness of the workspace.
• Develop and manage the department budget and negotiate vendor pricing.
• Maintain instrument performance and supply inventory; pursue cost-saving opportunities.
• Monitor workload and adjust staffing; resolve issues with pathologists and clinicians.
• Foster process improvement and knowledge sharing across teams.
