Job summary

Carle Health in Champaign, IL seeks a Laboratory Coding Auditor/Educator to oversee coding audits and provide targeted education for Laboratory Billing & Coding Representatives, Pathologists, and related departments. You will collaborate with Laboratory leadership to ensure regulatory compliance and accurate code assignment within EPIC.

The role serves as a senior coding resource, conducts workflow and charge integrity audits, and trains new staff while remaining current on coding regulations

Qualifications

• RHIT and CPC certifications required.
• Experience with laboratory coding practices and auditing.
• Knowledge of CPT/HCPCS/modifier and place of service coding.

Responsibilities

• Perform essential duties of Laboratory Billing & Coding Representative.
• Assist in managing audits and audit schedules.
• Provide coding audits and education to staff and pathologists.
• Ensure coding accuracy and chargemaster integrity in EPIC.
• Train new billing staff in laboratory coding and billing practices.
• Attend meetings with Pathologists, LIS, and Revenue Cycle teams.
