Job summary

Albertsons Companies in the United States is seeking a senior labor relations professional to guide management and associates on policy interpretation, investigations, and compliance with labor contracts. The role coordinates grievances, information requests, and accommodations under ADA and other laws.

You will work with counsel, unions, and management to resolve issues, prepare analyses, and support contract negotiations.

Qualifications

• College degree or equivalent work experience; HR training preferred.
• Significant HR/LR managerial experience.
• Significant business-related managerial experience.

Responsibilities

• Advises Division management and HR on discipline and policy interpretation regarding actions for hourly associates.
• Coordinates grievance meetings and information requests with unions.
• Conducts research and prepares analyses for grievance meetings and reports.
• Responds to employee complaints within policy and union contracts.
• Implements ADA accommodations and facilitates interactive processes.
• Handles leave of absence issues and determines best action.
• Coordinates investigations of grievance and hotline cases; provides findings or recommendations.
• Documents labor relations activities and maintains files.
• Prepares memos on wage and benefit improvements.
• Assists with contract negotiation by researching and compiling information.
• Develops resolutions on labor-relations issues within policy/contract; refers to HR when non-contractual.
• Assists with union avoidance by researching and meeting with associates.
• Referral to Shared Services for payroll/benefits/HR records.
• Assist legal counsel with witness coordination and information research.
• Works with union trust administrators to coordinate contributions.
