Job summary

Albertsons Companies is seeking a Director of Labor Relations to lead contract negotiations, administer collective bargaining agreements for the Jewel Osco Division (including the Melrose Distribution Center), and provide guidance on labor relations strategy. The role is based in Seattle, WA or Boise, ID, with 4 days in the office and travel up to 50%.

Candidates should hold a Juris Doctorate and be active in good standing, with extensive union negotiations experience and strong

Qualifications

• JD degree and bar admission in good standing.
• Minimum five years leading union negotiations or labor/employment law.
• Strong writing, negotiation, and contract development skills.
• Ability to work with management, unions, and regulators.
• Experience with Taft-Hartley pension and healthcare trust funds is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Administer and negotiate labor contracts for the Jewel Osco Division.
• Supervise Labor Relations Managers and coordinate with local unions.
• Draft proposals and negotiate terms that meet employee and business needs.
• Manage escalated employee issues related to contracts and terms.
• Collaborate with HR leaders on resolutions and strategy.
• Oversee trusts and pension/benefit fund considerations with actuaries.
• Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulatory agencies.
• Travel up to 50%.
