Job summary

ALDI is seeking a Senior Labor and Employment Counsel to provide strategic guidance on labor relations and employment matters. The role leads the Labor and Employment team, partners with executives and HR, and collaborates with outside counsel to mitigate risk and advance company objectives.

Applicants must have a J.D., Illinois licensure or ability to obtain, and a minimum of seven years’ progressive legal experience in labor and employment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 7 years' progressive experience in a legal environment, preferably in-house or law firm
• J.D. from ABA-accredited law school required
• Licensed to practice in Illinois (or ability to obtain) required

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic labor and employment counsel to leadership and HR
• Lead and supervise the Labor and Employment team
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners to integrate legal considerations into business operations
• Manage outside counsel on complex labor and employment matters
• Analyze and advise on labor relations, wage/hour compliance, workplace investigations, and related issues
