Qualifications

• Juris doctor degree from an accredited law school.
• Current US license to practice law in good standing.
• Minimum of five years of experience practicing law.
• Deep knowledge of US labor and employment law, including Title VII, ADA, ADEA, FMLA.
• Experience drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and supporting implementation of employment-related agreements, policies and procedures.
• Experience with international labor and employment law is a plus.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive labor and employment law counsel on all aspects of the employment relationship, including recruitment and hiring, employment contracts, compensation and benefits, performance management, disciplinary actions, terminations, reductions in force, accommodation requests, leave administration, wage and hour compliance, workplace investigations, employment policies and handbook development, and employment litigation management;
• Maintain template infrastructure for agreements. Draft, review, negotiate and support implementation of wide variety of legal instruments including contracts, licenses, assignments, releases, waivers, memoranda, litigation materials and corporate documents, including employment agreements, offer letters, separation agreements, confidentiality and non-compete agreements, independent contractor agreements, employment policies, and employee handbooks;
• Assist in developing, implementing and managing compliance and risk management strategies, including policies, procedures and trainings, with particular focus on employment law compliance training for managers and Human Resources staff;
• Manage US labor and employment Outside Counsel and provide support and/or take the lead working with in-country staff and outside counsel on international labor and employment issues;
• Stay up to date on developments in relevant legal areas, particularly labor and employment law at the federal, state, and local levels;
• Perform other duties or responsibilities, as assigned.
