Qualifications

• Several years of hands-on laboratory experience (2–5 years typical).
• Ability to perform established procedures independently, accurately and reliably.
• Experience with mammalian or human cell culture and sterile technique.
• Experience with common molecular/cellular biology techniques such as PCR, ELISA, flow cytometry, DNA/RNA prep.
• Follow written protocols and established procedures consistently.
• Identify and troubleshoot routine lab problems with guidance when needed.
• Strong attention to detail and accurate documentation.
• Good communication and organization skills.
• Willingness to learn new techniques across diverse research activities.

Responsibilities

• Learn and independently perform established assays and protocols.
• Perform routine to moderately complex lab procedures with limited supervision.
• Maintain and culture human/mammalian cells using sterile techniques.
• Prepare samples, reagents, buffers, media, standards for assays.
• Perform molecular/cellular biology techniques (PCR, ELISA, flow cytometry, DNA/RNA prep).
• Operate standard lab equipment and perform maintenance.
• Document procedures, observations, and results accurately in records.
• Assist with new procedures once developed and established.
• Keep work areas organized and compliant with safety and waste disposal procedures.
• Train less-experienced personnel as needed.
• Collaborate with scientists and other staff; adapt to evolving needs.
