Job summary

Abbott in Redwood City, CA is seeking a Lab Tech Sr. to prepare samples, record patient information, and verify data. The role focuses on accessioning, sample management, data entry, and specimen storage with strict adherence to lab regulations and ISO 15189/QMS.

Training on Epic access will be provided and the position is 100% onsite for a 12‑month duration. The candidate will work with the Laboratory Information System (LIMS), perform administrative duties for incoming samples, and support

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED.
Basic computer skills including email usage.
Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
Ability to work designated schedule and nights/weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

Perform laboratory tasks, as assigned.
Receive, sort, and unpack incoming samples regularly.
Unpack, log and track incoming samples using specified software regularly.
Perform order entry and order processing including reviewing patient demographics and sample collection.
Evaluate insurance and verify billing information.
Perform sample accessioning and verify patient demographics, sample ID, and labeling.
Use Laboratory Information System (LIMS) to review and enter sample information.
