Job summary

TekWissen Group has a client in biotechnology product development seeking a Senior Laboratory Scientist for a 12‑month temporary assignment onsite in Hillsboro, OR. The Scientist II will conduct active research under a PhD mentor, develop expertise in electron emission, and support software and instrument development while maintaining rigorous data collection and interpretation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Sciences is required.
• Molecular Biology degree is preferred.
• Able to set up and perform laboratory experiments and collect data.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret results.
• Able to document and communicate findings clearly.
• Willingness to learn and operate specialized lab equipment.
• Troubleshoot laboratory equipment with team support.
• Familiar with data acquisition and analysis techniques.

Responsibilities

• Set up and conduct laboratory experiments.
• Operate high-voltage power supplies and ultra-high-vacuum systems.
• Perform thermal imaging and monitor experiments.
• Collect I/V curve data from electron emitters.
• Conduct noise, energy spread, and brightness measurements.
• Use SEM and FIB for imaging and surface analysis.
• Run simulations of laboratory and instrument control software.
• Develop and test software for data acquisition and control.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment.
• Present research results at internal seminars.
