Job summary

ICON Clinical Research is seeking a Senior Research Scientist for an on-site role in Portland, OR. You will oversee the scientific aspects of assay development and validation, with preference for experience in medical device design/manufacturing following ISO 13485 standards.

Qualifications

Minimum 6 years of experience in genomic assays.
PhD preferred; or a Bachelor's/Master's with 6–8 years experience.
Experience with medical device design/manufacturing or ISO 13485 is preferred.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to work independently and efficiently.

Responsibilities

Independently direct development and validation of new genomic assays.
Lead testing of clinical trial samples for RT-PCR, qPCR, and ddPCR assays.
Manage all aspects of R&D assay validations: experiments, data analysis, sponsor updates, cross-functional interactions.
Attend and present results at client meetings.
Maintain high quality and meet deadlines across multiple projects.
Provide scientific leadership within the department.
