Job summary

MERIEUX NUTRISCIENCES in Allentown, PA is seeking an Operations Manager to lead a laboratory department, drive efficiency, and ensure quality and regulatory compliance.

You will supervise supervisors, allocate resources, coach staff, manage KPIs, and coordinate with cross-functional teams; minimal travel expected; compensation includes $80,000-$90,000 annually with up to 10% bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in microbiology, chemistry, food science, or related field; or equivalent experience.
• 6+ years of relevant laboratory or operational experience.
• Prior experience leading supervisors or multiple teams.
• Demonstrated ability to manage performance, staffing, and operational priorities.
• Strong understanding of laboratory operations, quality systems, and regulatory requirements.
• Experience making operational decisions related to resources, scheduling, and workflow management.
• Ability to analyze data and drive improvements in productivity, quality, and efficiency.
• Must have client-facing experiences with examples of problem solving operational issues.

Responsibilities

• Manage department operations within the laboratory.
• Lead departmental supervisors and teams to ensure effective execution of operations.
• Allocate resources to meet business objectives and client expectations.
• Decide staffing, scheduling, workflow, and resource allocation for efficiency.
• Monitor KPIs and drive action plans to improve performance.
• Ensure compliance with quality systems, regulatory requirements and company policies.
• Hire and develop staff; provide coaching to strengthen leadership.
• Drive continuous improvement to enhance efficiency and capacity utilization.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align objectives and execution.
• Oversee adoption of new methods, equipment, or processes and ensure training.
