Qualifications

  • Greater than 2 years’ experience as a Lab Assistant.
  • High School Diploma, higher education preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of the processing of specimens for Reference Laboratory testing.
  • Advanced skills for the processing of specimens for specialty testing.
  • Previous exposure to Laboratory and Laboratory terminology.
  • Excellent communication and public relation skills.
  • Familiarity with computer terminals, keyboards, printers, and PCs.

Responsibilities

  • Trains Lab Assistants in all areas of the Lab Office and serves as a mentor.
  • Oversees Lab Office areas and covers in the absence of the Lab Office Supervisor.
  • Performs duties per Lab Assistant job description and supports QA projects.
  • Maintains high levels of quality, safety, and confidentiality.
  • Ensures regulatory and health assessment requirements are met.
  • Engages professionally with hospital staff and community.
