Job summary

UPMC Harrisburg's Labor & Delivery team is hiring an experienced RN to join a rotating Day/Night schedule with every third weekend and holiday rotation. The Senior Professional Staff Nurse leads, coordinates, and delivers patient care, applying clinical judgment and collaboration across the care team.

This role sets standards for level and quality of care, mentors staff, and partners with physicians to achieve optimal outcomes.

Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Pennsylvania or multi-state license.
• BSN preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience.
• Ability to lead and mentor peers and students.

Responsibilities

• Identifies opportunities for clinical quality and workplace improvement.
• Serves as a unit leader in clinical expertise and evidence-based practice.
• Promotes changes to enhance patient care and unit environment.
• Precepts students, graduates, and new hires with feedback and learning.
• Applies the nursing process to create a healing environment with patient partnership.
• Demonstrates strong communication to translate patient status to the care team.
