Job summary

Systems Planning and Analysis, Inc. (SPA) seeks a Principal Kubernetes Engineer to design, build, and evolve a secure platform as a service for Space Systems Command.

This senior role anchors enterprise Kubernetes across hybrid cloud and on‑prem environments, enabling rapid, safe software delivery. You will lead automation, IaC, and observability initiatives, mentor engineers, and collaborate with cloud, cybersecurity, and software teams to improve reliability, security, and developer

Qualifications

• Active Secret clearance at time of application.
• BS degree in a technical field (CS/SE/IS/Engineering).
• Minimum 6 years designing and operating production Kubernetes platforms.
• CKA certification and Security+ or DoD IA certification are required.
• Experience across hybrid cloud and on‑prem environments with IaC and CI/CD.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate enterprise Kubernetes platforms across hybrid cloud and on‑prem environments.
• Architect scalable, highly available platform services for secure software delivery.
• Develop reusable platform capabilities to simplify deployment and lifecycle management.
• Implement infrastructure as code, automation, and continuous delivery practices.
• Engineer secure Kubernetes services, including identity management and platform hardening.
• Improve observability with metrics, logging, tracing, and dashboards.
• Provide technical leadership through architecture reviews and mentoring.
