Job summary

Systems Planning and Analysis, Inc. (SPA) seeks a Principal Kubernetes Engineer to design, build, and evolve a secure Kubernetes platform supporting Space Systems Command software delivery in a hybrid cloud and on‑prem environment.

You will lead engineering efforts, craft scalable platform services, and automate delivery with IaC and CI/CD while ensuring security, reliability, and developer productivity. Remote/hybrid work options are available.

Qualifications

Active Secret clearance at time of application.
Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
Minimum 6 years of progressively responsible experience designing, building, and operating production Kubernetes platforms.
Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) certification.
Current DoD-accepted Information Assurance certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+).

Responsibilities

Design, build, and operate enterprise Kubernetes platforms supporting secure hybrid cloud and on‑prem environments.
Architect scalable, available platform services for secure software delivery across mission environments.
Develop reusable platform capabilities to simplify deployment, operations, and lifecycle management.
Implement Infrastructure as Code, automation, and CI/CD practices for platform services.
Engineer secure Kubernetes services with identity management, policy enforcement, and platform hardening.
Collaborate with cross‑disciplinary teams to improve developer experience, security, and reliability.
