Job summary

Lincoln Motor Company is seeking a seasoned Platform Engineer to design and operate OpenShift/Kubernetes platforms on‑premise and in hybrid environments. You will automate infrastructure with Go, Python, and Ansible, and build self‑service tooling for application teams.

Responsibilities include developing Operators, CI/CD pipelines with Argo CD and Tekton, and enhancing observability. Strong coding skills and a passion for reliability will drive success in this role.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in Platform/SRE/DevSecOps with automation and software development.
• Deep, hands‑on expertise with Kubernetes/OpenShift platform administration and internals—code‑driven.
• Strong object‑oriented programming in Go and/or Python.
• Practical experience with CI/CD and GitOps tooling (GitHub, Argo CD/OpenShift GitOps, Tekton/OpenShift Pipelines).
• Hands‑on experience with API development, integration, and an API‑first mindset.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and infrastructure automation.
• Solid understanding of distributed systems, microservices, and cloud‑native design principles.
• Experience with Kubernetes Operators and custom controllers.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, architect, and maintain OpenShift/Kubernetes platforms for on‑premise, bare‑metal, and hybrid cloud environments.
• Develop and support custom Kubernetes/OpenShift Operators, APIs, and developer tooling for self‑service platform capabilities.
• Write clean, testable infrastructure automation and IaC using Go, Python, and Ansible.
• Implement and manage GitOps‑based CI/CD deployment pipelines using Argo CD, Tekton, GitHub, Helm, and Kustomize.
• Enhance platform reliability through monitoring, alerting, observability, and auto‑recovery mechanisms.
• Build and integrate observability dashboards using Prometheus, Grafana, Dynatrace/AppDynamics, and ELK/Splunk.
• Support distributed systems, microservices, API gateways, and service mesh (Istio) architectures, including secrets management.
• Explore AI/ML pipelines and chaos engineering within private cloud operations.
• Collaborate with architects and teams to improve usability and address platform constraints.
• Mentor team members and promote best practices in software craftsmanship and GitOps workflows.
