The 5 Spot Sandfly in Savannah, GA is seeking an exceptional and experienced Assistant Kitchen Manager to help lead our heart-of-house team in a fast-paced, casual restaurant with a bar program. You will work under the Kitchen Manager to uphold quality, training, and cost-control while empowering staff to deliver outstanding guest service.

The ideal candidate has back-of-house experience, strong leadership, and the ability to manage a team during busy shifts.

Qualifications

• Back-of-house operations experience preferred.
• Ability to manage a team.
• Availability mornings, weekends, and holidays.
• Reliable transportation.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Stamina to work 45–50 hours per week.

Responsabilités

• Lead kitchen functions under the Kitchen Manager, including food purchasing, preparation, and quality standards.
• Ensure sanitation and cleanliness; train employees in cooking, portioning, and cost control.
• Maintain and follow recipes, portioning, and serving standards to meet guest expectations.
• Supervise kitchen cleaning and inventory control; report shortages to Management.
• Monitor food costs and waste; ensure proper storage and handling; arrange maintenance when needed.
• Contribute to a safe, respectful work environment and uphold company policies.
