Job summary

The Spot Cafe LLC in Saint Augustine, FL seeks an experienced Working Kitchen Manager/Chef to lead our kitchen operations in a fast-paced café setting.

This hands-on role requires strong culinary skills, team leadership, menu development, inventory control, and strict adherence to health codes, with a focus on consistent high-quality dishes.

You will work mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed, mentor staff, maintain equipment, and collaborate with ownership on seasonal specials.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Kitchen Manager/Head Chef/Sous Chef in a café or restaurant setting.
• Strong culinary skills with ability to work all kitchen stations.
• Experience with inventory, food costing, and ordering.
• Solid knowledge of food safety standards; ServSafe preferred.

Responsibilities

• Actively work the line while overseeing daily kitchen operations and food production.
• Plan, prepare, and execute menu items to high quality standards.
• Manage and mentor kitchen staff, including scheduling, training, and performance.
• Monitor inventory, place orders, and manage food cost controls.
• Ensure full compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health code regulations.
• Collaborate with ownership on menu development, specials, and seasonal offerings.
• Maintain kitchen equipment and ensure a clean, organized, and efficient workspace.
