Job summary

BJ’s Restaurants, Inc. is seeking a Kitchen Manager to oversee all restaurant operations during opening, mid, or closing shifts, ensuring a Gold Standard guest experience.

The role requires managing, hiring, training, and supervising the restaurant team with exempt status. We offer a lucrative compensation package plus quarterly bonus potential and nationwide relocation opportunities. Comprehensive benefits include medical, dental, vision, life, and 401K.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of full‑service, high‑volume casual dining restaurant management experience.
• High integrity, professionalism and maturity.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong relationship management and performance management skills.
• Motivate and direct team members and work effectively in a management team.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills with listening and questioning abilities.
• Strong writing and documentation skills.
• Ability to absorb and retain information quickly.
• Keen attention to detail.
• Proven problem‑solving abilities.
• Exceptional guest service orientation.
• Ability to stand and walk 8–10 hours, lift 50 pounds, bend and raise arms as needed.

Responsibilities

• Hire, manage, supervise and train restaurant team members to ensure a Gold Standard guest experience.
• Exempt management duties: spend >50% on managerial work and exercise independent judgment.
• Open / Mid‑Day / Closing duties.
• Conduct daily briefings on team matters.
• Manage local restaurant marketing, sales building and community involvement.
• Facilitate continued education programs for staff.
• Exercise discretion and independent judgment; ensure policy and legal compliance.
• Make hiring and termination recommendations to General Manager.
• Cooperate with HR and management on team inquiries.
