Job summary

Amphenol is seeking a Senior Key Account Manager for its Automotive team in San Jose, CA. You will work directly with our key automotive customers to support their electronics requirements, focusing on antennas and electronic modules, and will manage/grow assigned accounts.

The role requires developing relationships across engineering and purchasing, handling quotes, coordinating with multiple departments, and traveling up to 10–15% domestically and internationally.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Engineering (Technical Sales).
  • OEM and Tier1 relationship experience preferred.
  • Minimum 3+ years of Tier1/OEM experience.
  • Understanding of Automotive industry.
  • Disciplined self-starter.
  • Eligible to work in the US without sponsorship.
  • Experience working independently and in a team.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage time.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Mandarin speaking is a plus.
  • Ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Grow assigned existing accounts.
  • Interface with customers to develop business relationships and secure new opportunities.
  • Review component/part costing.
  • Manage the entire sales cycle from leads to orders.
  • Develop relationships with engineering and purchasing teams.
  • Create customer-facing presentations and marketing tools.
  • Respond to inquiries, prepare quotations, receive orders, and assist in collections.
  • Coordinate with related departments to meet customer requirements.
  • Provide account updates, forecasts, and business plans.
  • Coordinate with PM team to meet program milestones.
  • Communicate with local and international staff on project needs.
  • Locate and secure new potential business and customers.
  • Travel 10–15% including occasional international travel.

The Job
Summary

We are seeking a Senior Key Account Manager for our Automotive team based in San Jose, CA. You will work directly with our key automotive customers to support their electronics requirements focusing on antennas and electronic modules. This role will be focused on managing/growing assigned accounts.

  • Help to grow assigned existing accounts.
  • Interface with customers to develop ongoing business relationships and secure new project opportunities.
  • Reviewing and understanding component/part costing.
  • Manage the entire sales cycle from leads to business wins.
  • Develop relationships at all levels, both engineering and purchasing with your assigned customers.
  • Creating customer-facing presentations and marketing tools.
  • Responsible for responding to customer inquiries, preparing quotations, following through to receive orders, and assisting in timely collection of payments.
  • Understand customer requirements and work with related departments to provide a solution.
  • Provide assigned account updates, forecasts, and business plans.
  • Coordinate with PM team to ensure customer program milestones are met.
  • Communicate with local and international staff on project requirements.
  • Locate and secure new potential business and develop new customers.
  • Some travel will be required, including occasional international travel to Europe and Asia. Approximately 10% - 15% of total work time may be dedicated to business travel.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate has a degree in a relevant field. We are looking for a recognized professional with the following attributes:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Engineering (Technical Sales)
  • OEM and Tier 1 relationship experience preferred
  • Minimum 3+ years of Tier1/OEM Experience
  • Understanding of Automotive industry
  • Disciplined self-starter
  • Eligible to work in the US without sponsorship.
  • Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage time.
  • Fluent in both written and verbal English.
  • Mandarin speaking is a plus
  • Ability to manage deadlines and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
