Great Minds is seeking a Lead Policy Analyst to serve as a senior, independent contributor focused on policy intelligence across federal, state, and local levels. You will translate complex policy findings into strategies that influence how Great Minds engages with policymakers and K–12 stakeholders.

The role requires 7+ years in K–12 policy or related research, and the ability to drive initiatives from problem framing to recommendations within a fast-growing, mission-driven organization.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in K–12 policy, applied research, or a closely related discipline.
  • Ability to frame problems and translate findings into strategic recommendations.
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative research methods with clear storytelling.
  • Experience managing multiple priorities with stakeholder demands.
  • Familiarity with state and local policy development processes.
  • Experience turning policy landscapes into actionable plans.

Responsibilities

  • Frame issues and synthesize federal, state, and local policy trends.
  • Own tracking and monitoring of legislation and policy developments.
  • Lead projects shaping policy actions at local to state levels.
  • Translate regional analysis into recommendations for policy engagement.
  • Equip internal stakeholders with clear briefings and frameworks.
  • Represent Great Minds at policy conferences and sector events.
