Job summary

ZAVTEK Inc. is seeking an experienced Washington State EL01 Journeyman Electrician to support our critical power operations in Seattle.

The role focuses on UPS battery installation, replacement, maintenance, and related electrical work, with direct oversight of electrical trainees to ensure safety and compliance. The successful candidate will read drawings, test systems, and verify installations in data centers and other mission-critical environments, traveling to customer sites as required and

Qualifications

• Current Washington State EL01 Journeyman Electrician license in good standing.
• Experience performing electrical installations and/or service work.
• Experience with UPS systems or critical power equipment preferred.
• Ability and willingness to supervise electrical trainees in the field.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Ability to travel to customer locations as required.
• Work in data centers and other critical-facility environments.

Responsibilities

• Perform and oversee installation, replacement, maintenance, and removal of batteries used in UPS and critical power systems.
• Provide direct, on-site supervision of electrical trainees performing battery installation and related electrical work.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and one-line diagrams.
• Verify proper installation, torque, labeling, and configuration of battery strings and equipment.
• Perform electrical testing and troubleshooting of UPS and battery systems.
• Identify unsafe conditions and take corrective action; maintain safe work practices.
• Travel to customer sites and work in data centers and other facilities.
