Job summary

Surge Technology Solutions Inc is seeking a senior Jira Administrator to set up and manage Jira Software and Jira Service Management for a large program in the United States. You will design workflows, configure screens and permission schemes, and ensure traceability across requirements, stories, tasks, and defects.

You will also create projects, boards, backlogs, sprints, and reusable templates, and build automation rules and reports.

Qualifications

5+ years hands-on Jira Software and Jira Service Management Administration.
Experience with at least one full Jira setup or implementation.
Strong JQL and automation rule skills.
Experience designing workflows, screen schemes, and permission models.
Experience analyzing bug and operational reports.
Working knowledge of Agile, Scrum, and Kanban.

Responsibilities

Set up Jira from scratch for the program with each workstream as its own project.
Design and configure workflows, screens, screen schemes, and permission, notification, and issue-type schemes.
Configure issue linking for traceability across requirements, stories, tasks, test cases, and defects.
Create projects, boards, backlogs, and sprints using reusable templates.
Build automation rules for transitions, reminders, escalations, and notifications.
Create JQL queries, filters, dashboards, and reports for tracking and program status.
Compile and analyze operational bug reports and share insights with stakeholders.
Build custom XML-based Jira gadgets where standard reporting falls short.
Evaluate, test, install, and configure Jira and Confluence plugins, including licensing needs.
Document workflows and runbooks and user guides.
Onboard teams, provide hyper care after go-live, and hand over to the support team.
