Job summary

Syntax is seeking a Principal Solution Architect, JD Edwards, to lead pre- and post-sales technical architecture for cloud-based JDE solutions.

The role will architect JDE on AWS, Azure and OCI, drive security, performance, and disaster recovery, and collaborate with product and delivery teams across North America to deliver cutting-edge JD Edwards deployments in a cloud-first environment.

Qualifications

• 15–25 years of experience in solution architecture or related leadership roles.
• Strong JD Edwards architecture and deployment patterns.
• Experience architecting JDE on AWS, Azure, and OCI.
• Cloud fundamentals: network, identity, storage, compute, observability, DR.
• Security architecture for enterprise platforms.
• Migration and modernization program leadership.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; cross-team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a pre-sales technical SME for JDE cloud architecture engagements.
• Architect JDE on AWS, Azure, and OCI including compute, network, storage, identity, middleware, database, logging/monitoring, and operational readiness.
• Design solutions for performance, scalability, availability, and resilience.
• Lead security-by-design architecture including identity, encryption, access controls, and network segmentation.
• Define and validate disaster recovery strategies (backup/restore, failover/failback, RPO/RTO).
• Advise on cloud governance and operating models (landing zones, tagging, cost management).
• Provide post-sales architecture support for large engagements.
• Collaborate with functional architects to align technical requirements.
• Act as trusted advisor to customers, sales, delivery, and product teams.
• Contribute to architecture collateral and technical content.
