Job summary

Machine Learning Technologies, LLC in Cary, NC, is seeking a senior, hands-on Java technical lead to design, build, and modernize enterprise banking applications across commercial banking, lending, digital banking, payments, and customer servicing.

You’ll architect scalable, secure, high-performing systems, mentor developers, and guide cloud-native modernization from architecture through deployment, partnering with Product Owners, BA, Architects, and QA.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software development experience with Java and Spring.
• Recent experience with a banking client.
• Proven experience leading development teams and acting as a hands-on technical lead.
• Microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, and event-driven design.
• Cloud technologies and experience modernizing legacy applications to cloud-native.
• Experience in commercial banking or lending, such as loan origination, servicing, underwriting, or payments.
• Integration with core banking platforms and third-party financial systems.
• Strong understanding of security, scalability, and performance optimization.
• Collaboration with Product, BA, architecture, and QA teams.

Responsibilities

• Architect and build enterprise-scale banking applications using Java and Spring, from architecture through testing and deployment.
• Design secure, highly available systems for banking and lending operations, including RESTful APIs, microservices, and event-driven solutions.
• Set standards: Define application architecture, coding standards, and engineering best practices.
• Modernize: Move legacy banking applications to cloud-native environments.
• Deliver banking solutions: Build applications for commercial loan origination, loan servicing, credit underwriting, customer onboarding, risk management, treasury management, digital banking, payment processing, and CRM.
• Integrate: Connect applications with core banking platforms and third‑party financial systems, and support the end‑to‑end loan lifecycle from application through servicing.
• Lead the team: Mentor developers, run code and architecture reviews, and guide system design, scalability, security, and performance.
• Collaborate: Work with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Architects, and QA.
