Job summary

Eliassen Group is seeking a Java Developer for a remote contract in Financial Services. You will manage Java and Java EE development end-to-end, contributing across the software lifecycle.

Role requires 10+ years in Java/Spring Boot, plus hands-on AWS, Terraform, and microservices. You will work on cloud-based systems using Java EE, JPA/Hibernate, and modern web frameworks in a dynamic, client-facing environment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of Java and Spring Boot hands-on development experience.
• Understanding of cloud and event-driven architecture, microservices, and DDD architectural style.
• Hands-on experience deploying applications into AWS.
• Strong understanding of Terraform.
• Hands-on experience designing and developing applications using Java EE platforms.
• Object-oriented analysis and design using common design patterns.
• Knowledge of relational databases, SQL, and ORM technologies such as JPA2 and Hibernate.
• Experience with the Spring Framework.
• Experience developing web applications using at least one popular web framework such as JSF, Wicket, GWT, or Spring MVC.
• Proficiency with Java J2EE and Hibernate.

Responsibilities

• Define site objectives by analyzing user requirements and envisioning system features and functionality.
• Design and develop user interfaces for internet and intranet applications by setting expectations and feature priorities throughout the development lifecycle.
• Determine design methodologies and tool sets and complete programming using appropriate languages and software products.
• Design and conduct tests.
• Troubleshoot development and production problems across multiple environments and operating platforms.
• Support users by developing documentation and assistance tools.
