Job summary

Global Payments Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Gordian Knot team and help advance payment processing platforms.

You will design, develop, test, and deliver scalable software for high-volume commerce, while collaborating across product, platform, and support teams to meet evolving business needs. You will work on monolithic components as we modernize toward microservices, with emphasis on reliability, data recovery, and rapid feature delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, computer science or related discipline or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of Java software engineering experience.
• Strong design, SQL and Java programming skills.
• Ability to translate business goals into technical requirements.
• Experience with microservices and scalable architectures.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test software for scalability and high availability.
• Collaborate with Product, Platform, Merchant Services and Support teams to translate requirements into solutions.
• Apply Agile practices including pair programming and TDD to improve quality.
• Deploy features with zero downtime and minimal impact on live customers.
• Develop expertise in e‑commerce payments and contribute to new product features.
