Job summary

Global Payments is seeking an experienced Software Engineer II to join the A-Team, building scalable microservices and contributing to a large-scale payments platform in a fast-paced, team-focused environment.

You will design, develop, and maintain services powering merchant payments, collaborating across Product and Platform teams while embracing Agile practices to deliver reliable features and improvements.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, computer science or related discipline (or equivalent).
5+ years of relevant experience in Java software engineering.
Strong design, SQL and Java programming skills.
Experience with microservices, globally distributed services, and 24/7 support.
Familiarity with RESTful API design and cloud tech like Kubernetes and Kafka.
Proficiency with SQL, relational data modelling and schema design.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test software for scalable, high-availability platforms.
Collaborate with Product, Platform, Merchant Services and Support to translate requirements into technical solutions.
Apply Agile practices including pair programming and TDD to maximize quality.
Deploy new features to production with zero downtime and no end-user impact.
Build domain expertise in e-commerce payments and develop new product features.
