Job summary

Elevance Health seeks an Engineer Senior (Java/Spring Boot) to deliver end-to-end application and system development on complex multi-technology platforms within an assigned client group. The role operates in a hybrid model with in-office 1-2 days per week, primarily in Virginia, with alternate locations considered for commuting distance.

The position supports requirements gathering, technical decision-making, and mentoring others while leveraging Java 21, Spring Boot, WebSphere, and ORM

Qualifications

• Requires a BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field with 5+ years of related experience.
• Proven experience delivering end-to-end applications on multi-technology platforms.
• Strong knowledge of Java, Spring Boot, REST, and database technologies.

Responsibilities

• Maintains active relationships with customers to determine business requirements and leads requirements gathering meetings.
• Owns the change request process and coordinates with other teams as necessary.
• Provides technical advice and weighs in on technical decisions impacting cross-functional teams.
• Researches and proposes new technologies to improve solutions.
• Develops and owns the list of final enhancements and technical specifications.
• Performs design reviews, code reviews and supports testing to ensure quality.
• Coordinates on-call support and ensures effective monitoring of systems.
