Elevance Health in Virginia is seeking a Senior Engineer (Java/Spring Boot) to deliver end-to-end application and system development on multi-technology platforms within the assigned client group or corporate department.

The role requires a BA/BS in IT or CS and 5+ years of related experience; strong Java, Spring, WebSphere, REST and ORM skills; and experience with CI/CD and cloud platforms. Hybrid work with 1–2 days in the office. Salary range $120,080–$180,120.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in IT or CS with 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with multi-dimensional platforms and business/technical applications.
• Hybrid work arrangement with 1–2 days in the office.

Responsibilities

• Maintains active relationships with customers to determine business requirements and leads requirements gathering meetings.
• Owns the change request process and coordinates with other teams as necessary.
• Provides technical advice and weighs in on technical decisions that impact cross functional teams.
• Researches and may propose new technologies.
• Develops and owns list of final enhancements.
• Develops and defines application scope and objectives and prepares specifications.
• Performs technical design and code reviews.
• May own technical testing to ensure unit and system testing meet plan requirements.
• Mentors others and may lead multiple projects.
• Sets direction at project/service level and influences decisions.
