Job summary

Talentify is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in Reston, VA (Hybrid). The role focuses on designing, coding, testing, and maintaining large-scale systems for tens of thousands of users.

You will work across front-end and back-end layers, leverage Spring, AWS, and CI/CD practices, and mentor juniors while driving architectural discussions. The ideal candidate has strong Java and COBOL experience, solid understanding of RESTful services, Agile practices, and cloud tooling, with excellent English

Qualifications

• Must have Java development experience with unit and integration tests.
• Must have COBOL programming experience (CICS, JCL, TSO/ISPF, ChangeMan, Topaz).
• Able to understand and work with code developed by others.
• Able to work independently.
• Experience with web services and RESTful/SOA.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Experience with CI within a DevOps environment.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
• Experience with Spring Core/Boot/MVC/Integration.
• Experience with AWS cloud technologies.
• Nice to have API Management Tools experience.
• Nice to have Git/Bitbucket experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical design, coding, and testing of applications (approx. 25%).
• Serve as SME for discussions; develop/analyses interface design documentation; deliver large systems for thousands of users.
• Ensure code quality, migrations and DevOps standards and policies.
• Perform software analysis including requirements and use case development and design.
• Implement and document source code to design specs; develop automated tests.
