Job summary

NTT DATA seeks a Senior Java Spring Boot Developer (Hybrid) to join our Charlotte, NC team. You will design, implement, and maintain backend services using Java and Spring Boot, building REST APIs and microservices while collaborating across architecture, DevOps, QA, and business analysis teams.

The role requires extensive experience with Oracle/PostgreSQL, CI/CD, and cloud platforms, plus a focus on modernization and production support in a regulated enterprise environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in Java/backend development.
• 5+ years of experience with Spring Boot.
• 4+ years of experience developing REST APIs.
• 4+ years of experience designing and developing microservices.
• 4+ years of experience with Oracle and/or PostgreSQL databases.
• 3+ years of experience with SQL and database integration.
• 3+ years of experience with CI/CD tools and DevOps practices.
• 2+ years of experience with Splunk or similar monitoring tools.
• 3+ years of experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• 3+ years of experience in application/cloud modernization and production support.
• 3+ years of experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
• 2+ years of experience with Git, code reviews, automated testing, and deployment processes.
• 3+ years of experience troubleshooting complex application and production issues.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.
• Develop and integrate REST APIs and microservices for enterprise apps.
• Design and implement scalable architectures.
• Develop and optimize with Oracle/PostgreSQL databases.
• Write complex SQL queries and database integrations.
• Implement and support CI/CD pipelines for build, test, and deployment.
• Monitor performance and production issues using observability tools.
• Troubleshoot incidents and perform root-cause analysis.
• Participate in cloud modernization and migration to cloud-native platforms.
• Collaborate with architects, DevOps, QA, BAs, and tech teams.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, deployment, and releases.
• Create technical documentation and support modernization initiatives.
