Job summary

Wissen Technology in Menlo Park seeks an experienced Associate/AVP for a Java or Python engineering role. The position is hybrid, with three days on site and two remote days, and follows a Monday–Friday schedule.

You will design, develop, and optimize high‑performance software for major clients. Applicants should have 5+ years of software design and development in Windows, Linux, and Unix, plus strong Java/Python and DB skills.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software design and development.
• Strong proficiency in Java, Python, C, C++, Go, Perl, SQL, and Shell scripting.
• Hands-on experience with Windows, Linux, and Unix platforms.
• Relational databases such as Sybase, Oracle, DB2, PostgreSQL.
• Experience with Docker/Podman, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and Helm.
• Design of high-performance, scalable transaction-processing systems.
• Knowledge of SDLC and software development methodologies.
• Experience with distributed systems and enterprise applications.
• Knowledge of AI/ML technologies is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain high-performance software applications.
• Develop complex algorithms and scalable solutions for challenging problems.
• Build distributed, transaction-processing systems with focus on performance.
• Work across Windows, Linux, and Unix environments.
• Participate in SDLC from requirements to deployment and maintenance.
• Perform performance testing, profiling, and tuning of distributed apps.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to communicate solutions and challenges.
• Participate in code reviews and ensure coding standards.
• Work with DevOps on containerization, orchestration, CI/CD, and deployment automation.
• Contribute to technical documentation and design discussions.
• Work independently while collaborating with distributed teams.
