Job summary

Citi is seeking an Applications Development Senior Programmer Analyst in Jersey City, NJ to design, build, test, and deploy Java-based microservices. You will implement RESTful APIs, Kafka-based event streams, and cloud-native Spring Cloud patterns within a fast-paced tech team.

The role focuses on performance, scalability, and migration-ready architectures, collaborating with product managers and architects across the SDLC.

Qualifications

3-6 years of professional Java development experience with JDK 8+.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain Java applications using Spring Boot microservices.
Implement REST, async messaging, service-to-service integration with fault tolerance.
Build cloud-native services with Spring Cloud components.
Develop Event-Driven Architecture using Kafka for async communication.
Apply knowledge of Java collections, concurrency, and multi-threading for performance.
Conduct performance tuning, profiling, and GC tuning as needed.
Collaborate with product managers and architects to translate requirements into designs.
Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle for microservices.
Troubleshoot and upgrade existing services as part of migration strategy.
