Job summary

Branch is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to develop core backend components in one of our Engineering pods. You will design and optimize scalable services and RESTful APIs with a strong focus on Java and Spring Boot.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years building distributed systems, value code quality, and collaborate across product and support teams to deliver the best experience for users. Remote within the U.S. role.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience building clean, scalable software.
• Strong CS fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, design patterns.
• Experience designing and supporting customer-facing RESTful APIs.
• Strong command of Java and Java-based microservices with Spring Boot.

Responsibilities

• Measure and optimize performance, scalability, and uptime of backend services.
• Promote engineering excellence through design reviews and code reviews.
• Collaborate with product, customer success, and support to improve user experience.
• Deliver cohesive REST APIs and domain-driven service design.
• Contribute to engineering culture and standards across pods.
