Yorkshire Global Solutions Inc. is seeking a Senior Java Backend Developer for a remote contract (W2). The role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend services and REST APIs.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years of Java experience, strong Spring Boot skills, and hands-on work with SQL databases, cloud platforms, and CI/CD tooling.

You will collaborate with architects, DevOps, and QA teams to deliver reliable enterprise solutions across distributed systems.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in Java backend development or enterprise application development.
• Strong hands-on experience developing backend applications using Java.
• Strong experience with Java 8/11/17 or newer versions.
• Strong experience with Spring Framework and Spring Boot.
• Extensive experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and backend services.
• Strong experience developing and implementing Microservices-based applications.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, design patterns, data structures, and algorithms.
• Strong experience with Spring MVC, Spring Security, Spring Data, or related Spring technologies.
• Strong experience working with JPA, Hibernate, or similar ORM frameworks.
• Strong SQL development experience with relational databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQL Server.
• Experience designing database schemas, writing complex SQL queries, and optimizing database performance.
• Experience with messaging and event-driven architectures using Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar technologies.
• Strong experience with Git and modern source-code management practices.
• Experience with Maven, Gradle, or similar build and dependency management tools.
• Strong experience writing unit and integration tests using JUnit, Mockito, or similar testing frameworks.
• Experience with Docker and containerized application environments.
• Working knowledge of Kubernetes and container orchestration is preferred.
• Experience developing applications for cloud environments such as AWS and/or Azure.
• Experience working with cloud services, deployment environments, and cloud-native application architectures.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Experience working with Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or similar CI/CD tools.
• Experience troubleshooting application issues, production defects, performance problems, and system failures.
• Strong understanding of application performance, scalability, availability, and reliability.
• Experience implementing logging, monitoring, and application observability solutions.
• Experience integrating backend applications with external systems, third-party services, and enterprise applications.
• Strong understanding of authentication and authorization mechanisms such as OAuth 2.0, JWT, and Spring Security.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
• Experience collaborating with Software Architects, Frontend Developers, QA Engineers, DevOps Engineers, Business Analysts, Product Managers, and other technical teams.
• Experience participating in code reviews and maintaining coding standards and best practices.
• Strong understanding of SDLC, software development methodologies, testing, deployment, and production support processes.
• Experience analyzing technical requirements and translating them into scalable backend solutions.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and identify root causes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with distributed technical teams.
• Strong experience delivering high-quality, scalable, secure, and maintainable backend applications.
