Job summary

Publicis Sapient is seeking a Principal Java Microservices Architect to lead architecture, design, and implementation of a core distributed microservices ecosystem. The role is hands-on with deep expertise in enterprise Java microservices, AI-backed backend systems, and scalable cloud-native architecture.

You will work with Google Cloud, ADK/MCP, and modern AI frameworks to build scalable, fault-tolerant platforms emphasizing high throughput and service orchestration.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of software engineering experience.
• 10+ years in microservices architecture, system design, or technical leadership.
• Hands-on Java (17/21), Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Reactive Java, gRPC, GraphQL, WebSockets, REST APIs.
• TypeScript and Python for AI framework bindings and scripting.
• Node.js ecosystems for cross-platform integration.
• Distributed backend microservices with resilience, caching, and relational/noSQL databases.
• Experience designing AI-powered conversational and agentic backend apps.
• Cloud-native architectures on Google Cloud / AWS / Azure.
• Docker, Kubernetes, Service Mesh, CI/CD, and observability tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture, design, and implementation of core distributed microservices.
• Hands-on development and technical leadership across teams.
• Shape AI agentic platforms with tool-calling backends and MCPs.
• Ensure high throughput, fault tolerance, and scalable cloud-native solutions.
• Collaborate on cloud strategy and deployment pipelines.
