Job summary

Cognizant in Bentonville, AR is seeking a Senior Java Lead to design and build cloud-native enterprise applications, leading backend teams and collaborating with architects, product owners, and stakeholders.

You will work with Java, Spring Boot, Microservices; Kafka; cloud platforms; Docker/Kubernetes; and AI-assisted tools to boost productivity. Onsite role with strong emphasis on performance and reliability.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 years of IT experience with Java (11/17/21), Spring Boot, and Microservices.
• Experience designing and building large-scale, high-performance distributed applications.
• Strong experience with Apache Kafka and event-driven architectures.
• Expertise in Hibernate/JPA, data modeling, advanced SQL, and database tuning.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong problem-solving, debugging, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices architecture.
• Build and support event-driven solutions using Apache Kafka.
• Optimize database performance using Hibernate/JPA and advanced SQL.
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement sustainable solutions.
• Deploy and support applications on Azure, AWS, or GCP using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Collaborate with business and technical teams to deliver scalable solutions.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot to improve productivity and code quality.
