Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Senior Java Full Stack Developer in Plano, TX, to design and build secure, scalable applications using Java and Spring Boot. You will work with product, QA, DevOps, and UX teams to deliver end-to-end solutions and mentor junior engineers.

The role emphasizes microservices, RESTful APIs, Kafka, Oracle DB, and CI/CD practices, with a hybrid work model requiring three days onsite in Plano and two days remote.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of hands-on experience in backend or full-stack Java development.
• Expert-level proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, and the Spring ecosystem.
• Experience with microservices, RESTful APIs, Kafka, and distributed systems.
• Strong Oracle database experience and SQL performance tuning.
• Proficiency with Git and CI/CD tooling.

Responsibilities

• Lead, design, and develop scalable applications using Java and Spring Boot.
• Build and maintain microservices-based systems with reliability and observability.
• Develop RESTful APIs and event-driven solutions using Kafka.
• Collaborate across product, QA, DevOps, and UX teams.
• Mentor junior developers and participate in code reviews.
