Job summary

Cognizant in the United States is seeking a Senior Java Developer to design, build, and support scalable enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, microservices, and AWS. You will work with client stakeholders and cross-functional teams to deliver secure, high-quality solutions.

The role emphasizes DevOps practices, CI/CD with Jenkins, Git, and Maven, and modern API security with OAuth. The hybrid role is based in Houston, TX, with in-person interviews as needed; visa transfer is not

Qualifications

• 6+ years of IT experience with Java 8/J2EE and related technologies.
• Hands-on with Spring Boot, Spring Core, Spring JPA and microservices.
• Strong experience with AWS cloud services and deployments.
• Experience with DevOps, CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Git, Maven).
• Strong programming/design skills: multithreading, REST, JSON, XML, web services.
• Knowledge of OAuth and secure API implementations.
• Clear communication in a global team environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop enterprise-grade apps using Java, JEE, Spring Boot.
• Build scalable web apps, RESTful APIs, and microservices.
• Apply patterns and engineering practices for maintainable solutions.
