Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Software Engineer – Java Full Stack Developer to design, develop, and support scalable cloud-native applications. You will work with Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, React.js, and AWS, contributing to performance, reliability, and continuous improvement within an Agile team.

The role offers remote work options for candidates in Plano, TX, with opportunities to own production support, implement CI/CD, and collaborate with global teams during EST hours.

Qualifications

• 8 to 12 years of software development experience with Java/J2EE technologies.
• Strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, REST API development, and system integrations.
• Experience with event-driven architectures using Kafka and AWS messaging services (SNS, SQS).
• Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services and cloud-native development.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases; experience with AWS RDS Oracle, RDS PostgreSQL, MongoDB.
• Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Bamboo, GitHub Actions) and source control.
• Production support experience including incident management and root cause analysis.
• Familiarity with monitoring/observability tools (Datadog, Splunk, AWS CloudWatch).
• Experience in Agile Scrum environments and collaboration with global teams during EST hours.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, React.js, and cloud-native technologies.
• Design, build, and integrate RESTful APIs and event-driven solutions (Kafka, SNS/SQS).
• Deploy and support applications on AWS ensuring scalability and reliability.
• Own production support activities including incident resolution and stability improvements.
• Collaborate in Agile Scrum teams with CI/CD, code reviews, testing, and continuous improvement.
