Job summary

Verizon is seeking a senior software architect to lead the design and delivery of a world-class OSQAR system using AI at scale. You will guide Agile Scrum teams, provide architectural direction, and ensure alignment with enterprise standards across Enterprise, Wholesale, Consumer and SMB segments.

The role requires strong Java/Python development, experience with microservices, REST/SOAP, AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud-native patterns.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or four or more years of relevant work experience.
• Four+ years of relevant experience demonstrated through work experience or military experience.
• Proven proficiency in Java and Python development.
• Experience with modern agentic coding environments to guide automated code generation while enforcing architectural standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end design of OSQAR system and ensure alignment with HLA specifications.
• Provide architecture guidance to Agile Scrum teams and manage cross-functional delivery.
• Define non-functional and performance requirements for cloud-based, real-time systems.
• Collaborate with product owners and interfacing systems to produce detailed design documents and APIs.
