Job summary

Cognizant in New York, NY is seeking a backend-focused software engineer to design, develop, and implement scalable services and web applications. You will write clean, tested code and collaborate with senior engineers to align with architecture goals.

You'll work with Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and React integration, operating in a hybrid model with some days in the office. Eligible for Cognizant incentives and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Strong Java fundamentals (Java 21 preferred).
• Solid experience with Spring Framework (Spring 4+) and Spring Boot 3.x.
• Experience building and consuming REST APIs.
• Good knowledge of React (version 17) and integration with backend services.
• Strong understanding of web application architecture and client-server communication.
• Experience with SQL and relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL).
• Proficiency with version control (Git) and build tools (Maven/Gradle).
• Strong focus on clean code, unit testing, and code reviews.

Salary And Other Compensation

The annual salary for this position is between $46K – 93,500K depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
