NinjaOne is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Java to design and implement scalable IT Operations software. You will lead large-scale Java applications, influence architecture, and mentor others while delivering high-quality systems used across millions of endpoints.

The role supports a hybrid remote model within the United States, with offices in Austin and Tampa for in-person options. Strong background in Java, Spring, REST, and distributed systems is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.
• 10+ years of Java software development, especially product applications.
• 5+ years of experience with highly scalable systems.
• Proven experience in scaling systems and solving complex design challenges.
• Strong knowledge of OOP design principles.
• Expertise in API design and RESTful services (Jersey/Spring).
• Relational database design and development proficiency.
• Experience with caching systems like Redis is a plus.
• In-depth knowledge of quality testing practices for high-quality software.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of large-scale software applications with a quality-first approach.
• Influence critical architectural decisions to ensure scalability and maintainability.
• Mentor junior engineers and set technical standards across projects.
• Own technical initiatives and address challenges using data from support teams.
• Drive quality assurance practices to deliver robust, high-performance software.
• Take on additional duties as needed to support the team.
