Job summary

Hidden Jobs is seeking a senior Java developer to build backend services and REST APIs in a distributed, event-driven environment. You will integrate with enterprise platforms and collaborate on code quality and deployment pipelines.

You will work with Java 11+, Spring Boot, Azure SQL, and modern cloud-native tooling (Docker, Kubernetes) to deliver scalable microservices. Remote US-based role with occasional travel to Italy as needed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional Java development experience.
• Hands-on Java 11+ and Spring Boot with REST API design.
• Experience with Azure SQL or other SQL databases.
• Event-driven architecture using Azure Event Hub or Kafka.
• Docker and Kubernetes experience; Git/Azure DevOps.
• OpenAPI/Swagger for API design and documentation.
• English and Italian skills at B2 level; willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend services with Java and Spring Boot.
• Build REST APIs and integrate services within a distributed environment.
• Consume and process platform events and customer data in near real-time.
• Implement event-driven solutions using Azure Event Hub or Kafka.
• Persist and manage customer data in Azure SQL databases.
• Design and maintain microservices deployed on Azure.
• Work with enterprise integrations across Salesforce, MuleSoft, and Azure.
• Contribute to API design and documentation using OpenAPI/Swagger.
• Work with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Collaborate on code quality, testing, and continuous delivery.
