Job summary

JP Morgan Chase is seeking a Java Software Engineer III to join the Commercial Real Estate Technology Group in Charlotte. You will work within an agile team to design, develop, and deliver secure, scalable software components across the enterprise.

Responsibilities include producing production-grade code, leveraging AI-assisted tools within a controlled environment, and ensuring code quality through peer reviews and automated tests.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification in software engineering with 3+ years of hands-on experience.
• Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Strong experience with Java, Python and ReactJS.
• Strong experience with Spring Boot, web development, REST services, and microservice development.
• Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with modern programming languages and database querying languages.
• Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools with ability to evaluate and refine AI outputs for correctness, performance and security.
• Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations.
• Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle.
• Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security

Responsibilities

• Executes software solutions, design, development, and troubleshooting with ability to tackle non-routine problems.
• Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run with appropriate systems.
• Leverages AI coding assist tools to improve code quality, speed, and productivity while ensuring peer review, tests, and secure coding standards.
• Applies SDLC tools and AI-assisted development and automation capabilities to improve value.
• Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications and ensures design constraints are met by code development.
• Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes data and develops visualizations and reporting for continuous software improvement.
• Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data to drive code hygiene and system improvements.
