Job summary

Base-2 Solutions is seeking a Senior Java Developer to modernize a government information system. You will lead upgrades of enterprise Java applications on Windows-based VMware, integrating Oracle 19c and SAP BI, and coordinating with security teams.

The role requires Top Secret/SCI with CI Polygraph clearance, strong secure coding practices, and experience with Solr, ZooKeeper, Tomcat, and directory services. Hybrid work includes on-site Annapolis Junction, MD with remote options.

Qualifications

• Enterprise Java applications on Windows-based VMware environments.
• Python development experience.
• Solr with ZooKeeper upgrades and index migration.
• Tomcat and Directory Studio experience.
• Oracle 19c integration experience.
• SAP BI reporting framework experience.
• Secure coding in government contexts.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute technology stack upgrades for enterprise Java applications in secure government environments.
• Develop and maintain Java/Python components on Windows-based VMware infrastructure.
• Modernize legacy code to current standards and best practices.
• Implement secure coding practices per government requirements.
• Upgrade Apache Solr clusters with ZooKeeper coordination.
• Migrate and optimize Solr index data during upgrades.
• Manage Tomcat configurations and deployments.
• Integrate applications with Oracle 19c databases.
• Work with Directory Studio for directory services integration.
• Support SAP BI reporting framework integrations.
• Collaborate with security/infrastructure/business teams.
• Minimize operational disruption during upgrades.
• Document designs, procedures, and configurations.
• Participate in code reviews and knowledge-sharing.
